Donald Trump’s removal from office backed by politicians citing 25th Amendment after latest Iran thr:e:a:t

Several political figures and commentators reacted strongly after controversial remarks attributed to former President Donald Trump regarding Iran and potential consequences tied to tensions over the Strait of Hormuz.

In response, Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene publicly suggested that the 25th Amendment could be considered, arguing that the rhetoric was dangerous and did not reflect an actual attack on the United States. The amendment allows for the transfer of presidential power if a president is deemed unable to discharge their duties, though it has never been fully used to remove a sitting president. Any such process would require action by Vice President JD Vance, a majority of the cabinet, and ultimately Congress.

Other Republican figures, including Joe Walsh and Adam Kinzinger, also supported invoking the amendment, describing the situation as alarming.

Conservative media personalities such as Candace Owens and Alex Jones echoed concerns about the rhetoric and called for action.

At the same time, several Democratic lawmakers—including Ilhan Omar, Ro Khanna, Yassamin Ansari, and Rashida Tlaib—also condemned the remarks, with some expressing support for exploring constitutional mechanisms under the 25th Amendment amid concerns about escalation and reported civilian casualties under investigation.
