Medical authorities have confirmed that nine people were killed and 28 others sustained injuries after an Iranian ballistic missile directly hit Beit Shemesh. Among the wounded, two individuals are in serious condition, two in moderate, and 24 suffered light injuries, highlighting the indiscriminate nature of the attack. Officials revealed that the majority of the victims were tragically seeking shelter in a public refuge when the strike occurred.
Further details emerged from Jerusalem District Police Chief Avshalom Peled, who stated from the scene that the missile made a “direct impact” on a synagogue. This catastrophic strike caused the structure to collapse onto the public shelter situated beneath it. Chief Peled emphasized that nearly all, if not all, of the victims were inside this shelter, underscoring the devastating consequences for those who had sought safety.
