Tensions in the Persian Gulf have escalated sharply following reports of attacks targeting U.S. military bases across the region. Iranian state television, citing military sources, announced that Iran had launched strikes against American installations located in several Gulf countries. The announcement immediately raised concerns about a widening regional conflict.

According to the reports, Iranian forces targeted multiple military sites connected to the United States. Several governments in the region responded quickly by issuing safety warnings, urging citizens to remain indoors and avoid areas near military facilities. Authorities stressed that these precautions were necessary due to the risk of further attacks or air defense activity. News agency Reuters reported that a powerful explosion was heard in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. Following the incident, the UAE reportedly closed its airspace as a precautionary measure. The Al Dhafra Air Base, which hosts U.S. forces, is believed to have been among the targets. Sources claim that Iranian ballistic missiles struck near the installation, triggering large explosions and activating air-defense systems.

Meanwhile, in Bahrain’s capital, Manama, smoke was reportedly seen rising from the Al Jufair district. The area is home to the headquarters of the United States Navy’s Fifth Fleet. Witnesses and local reports suggested the smoke appeared after what was described as an Iranian strike targeting the vicinity of the base. In Qatar, the Interior Ministry instructed residents to shelter in place after reports that a missile had been launched toward Al Udeid Air Base, the largest U.S. military facility in the Middle East. Defense systems, including Patriot missiles, were reportedly activated to intercept the incoming threat. Qatar also announced the temporary closure of its airspace as a precaution.
