Karoline Leavitt praised military actions ordered by President Donald Trump against Iran, calling the administration’s campaign a “resounding success” as tensions in the Middle East continue to rise. Speaking during a press briefing on Wednesday, Leavitt said the United States has struck more than 2,000 targets as part of Operation Epic Fury, a military campaign focused on Iranian missile facilities, naval assets, and parts of the country’s nuclear infrastructure.
“Under the leadership of President Donald J. Trump, the rogue Iranian terrorist regime is being absolutely crushed,” Leavitt said. She added that Iranian leaders were now facing consequences for what she described as years of attacks and threats against the United States. Leavitt argued that the current administration is reversing what she called decades of weak American foreign policy toward Iran. According to her, Trump’s strategy centers on decisive action to remove long-standing threats to U.S. security and stability in the region.
In a lengthy post on X, Leavitt outlined several key objectives of the campaign. These include destroying Iran’s missile production capabilities, weakening its naval forces, and preventing the country from ever developing a nuclear weapon. She also said the operation aims to disrupt Iranian-backed militant groups accused of destabilizing the Middle East and targeting American personnel. When asked about Trump’s remarks regarding “unconditional surrender,” Leavitt said the phrase reflects a situation where Iran no longer has the ability to threaten the United States or its allies. She also noted that she had no updates regarding a Pentagon investigation into reports that a U.S. strike may have hit an Iranian girls’ school, adding that any findings would come directly from defense officials.
