Dems Are Underestimating JD Vance For 2028: Liberal Host..

NewsNation political contributor Chris Cillizza said during a recent livestream on his YouTube channel that Vice President JD Vance could become a strong contender in the 2028 presidential election, warning that Democrats may underestimate his political appeal. Cillizza’s comments came after a recent poll conducted by Emerson College showed Vance holding a 46 percent favorability rating. The survey placed him ahead of several prominent figures from both the Republican and Democratic parties who are widely discussed as potential candidates for the next presidential race.

Responding to the polling data on X, Cillizza said the results reinforced his view that many Democrats do not fully understand Vance’s popularity among voters. During his livestream discussion, he described himself as “bullish” on Vance’s political prospects and suggested that dismissing the vice president could prove to be a mistake for the opposing party. Additional analysis from Harry Enten pointed to Vance’s early lead in surveys measuring potential Republican nominees. Enten noted that early polling often provides clues about future outcomes, explaining that candidates who begin as front-runners have historically secured their party’s nomination a majority of the time since 1980.

Grassroots support for Vance also appeared strong during a recent straw poll conducted at AmericaFest, organized by the conservative group Turning Point USA. In that informal survey, Vance received more than 84 percent of the vote, significantly ahead of other potential Republican contenders. Despite growing speculation about 2028, Vance has said his current focus remains on upcoming elections rather than a future presidential campaign. He recently stated that his priority is helping Republicans perform well in the midterm elections before considering longer-term political plans.
